This week, I want the Worthy Blog Readers to meet Ruth Spiegel, Worthy's Worship/Creative Director. Ruth is an incredible worship leader and artist. Her genuine love for Jesus creates such a holy atmosphere. Her voice is powerful on and off stage, and I'm thrilled for you to hear more of her heart this week in our "Meet the Worthy Executive Team" blog series.
What is your name and where do you serve on the Worthy team?
My name is Ruth Spiegel. I serve on the Worthy Executive team and as the Worship/Creative Director.
What do you do in that role and what is your favorite part of it?
I get the joy of building the teams for worship and the creative elements of the conference. I also have the privilege of meeting with other leaders in the area to tell them about Worthy.
What is your home church?
Overflow
To you, what is the most mind-blowing part of the Gospel?
It’s all mind blowing. Creation, that God created this beautiful place for us to inhabit. And that he created us to inhabit it knowing that we would mess it up. That God always had a plan to rescue us. That he loved us so much he never gave up on us. He chose us and He loves us so much to let us choose Him. It’s a beautiful love story.
Who is your favorite woman in the Bible and why?
It’s Mary. I love how much she loved Jesus and worshipped him with literally all she had. That is what I hope I do every time I come to the feet of Jesus. I pour it all out.
What is your favorite spiritual discipline and how do you practice it?
I spend time with the Lord daily, whether in worship, journaling, or reading the Bible. I love to worship but the most transformative time I have with the Lord is reading His word and listening to His voice.
What is one way that you typically hear from the Lord?
He talks to me daily. When I am still and aware he talks to me, when I seek I find him. It really is that simple.
What has "Living Worthy" looked like to you since last summer's Worthy
conference?
I think it’s just continuing to walk confidently in who God created me to be and encouraging that in others. Part of living worthy is looking outside yourself and finding others to walk with to strengthen and encourage and to receive that from them too.
Finish this sentence: "These days, I couldn't live without: ___________! (besides Jesus)"
Rest.
