How the Apostolic Gift Awakens Identity and Purpose
Ephesians 4:11–16 reminds us that when Jesus ascended, He gave gifts to His church,
he gave the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip and build up
the body of Christ. These gifts are not just titles or roles; they are living expressions of
His heart at work through His people.
One of those gifts, the apostolic, is referred to by Eric Knopt, as the Dream Awakener.
Jesus modeled this gift perfectly. He awakened destinies wherever He went by calling
fishermen to become world changers, tax collectors to become disciples, and broken
hearts to become whole.
And He still awakens dreams today through His people.
Recognizing the Apostolic Gift in My Life
The apostolic gift has been a clear thread in my story. God has given me the gift to see
the potential in people, their gifts, their strengths, and the callings He has placed on
their lives. I love helping them find where they can serve best, whether within our church
or through other outside ministries and businesses. The Kingdom of God operates
everywhere and I want to encourage every woman to take Jesus with them wherever
they are called. My heart is to see every person walking in their purpose so the
Kingdom of God can expand.

When I recognize potential in someone, I naturally speak encouragement and identity over them, encouraging them to rise into the fullness of who God designed them to be.
At a recent Ministers Connection for Women gathering, we were taught that when someone has two strong spiritual gifts, the leading gift reveals the why, and the secondary gift reveals the how.
That truth brought deep clarity for me.
My Why: To call women into their full potential, helping them understand their identity and walk in their divine calling.
My How: I use the prophetic gifting through encouragement, affirmation, and words that awaken destiny.
The prophetic is how I deliver the apostolic message. One calls forth the vision; the
other speaks life into it.
The prophetic becomes the voice through which the apostolic dream is spoken.
Together, these gifts equip and strengthen the women around me.
But this also comes with responsibility. Not everyone understands where those words
come from. To some, it may sound like flattery, but truly, it’s the Spirit flowing through
me. That’s why I’ve sought to study and understand my gifts deeply, so I can steward
them wisely.
Scripture has given me guardrails and boundaries that help me operate safely within
God’s covering. Boundaries do not to restrict me, but protect me. Like the Israelites
inhabiting the Promised Land (Exodus 23:31), God defines a space where we can live
and lead freely under His authority.
Where the Apostolic Shows Up in My Work
Apostolic people are known for starting things or pioneering, casting vision, and bringing
order where there was none. While that sounds like big-picture leadership, I’ve seen this
gift come alive even in the details of my everyday work.
As a ministry assistant, I get to build systems, ask meaningful questions, and create
structures that help ministries flourish. It may seem practical, but I see the eternal
impact. Every process I establish makes more room for our pastors and leaders to
operate in their gifts freely and efficiently.
That’s the heartbeat of the apostolic: building something that empowers others to walk in their calling.
The same is true in my health business. I promote the wellbeing of body, soul, and
spirit. The goal isn’t only physical transformation but spiritual too. I help women
rediscover their true identity in Christ, overcome limiting beliefs, and live from a place of
freedom.
Transformation happens when we align with Truth. When we possess Truth, live it, and
then offer it to others, it creates a pattern for freedom. The apostolic call is to bring the
Kingdom wherever we go, even into health, work, and daily life.

Awakening the Dream in Others
The apostolic call is about more than leadership; it’s about awakening people to the dreams of God within them. It’s about seeing beyond what is visible and calling forth what Heaven sees.
When Jesus called Peter, He didn’t speak to the fisherman, He spoke to the rock. Apostolic people do the same. We see not just what is, but what can be when Christ gets hold of a person’s life.
My prayer is to continue living as a Dream Awakener, faithfully calling forth identity, encouraging growth, and helping others find freedom under God’s loving boundaries.
Because when each part of the body of Christ is awakened and equipped, the whole
Church reflects Jesus more beautifully.
If you’ve ever felt a stirring to do more for God, to start something, lead something, or
speak life into others, that may be the apostolic call awakening in you. Don’t ignore it.
Ask God where He wants to use your gifts to build, plant, and empower others. And if
you’re not sure what your spiritual gifts are, begin with prayer. Then, connect with other
women here at Worthy. We’re walking this journey together, discovering identity, calling,
and purpose through Christ.
